SUMMARY:SIWA Korean Speaking Club - 2026 Jan
DESCRIPTION:If you are a foreigner\, living in South Korea\, for sure it has its peculiarities and perks. You might be allured into Korean culture by the catchy K-pop songs and romantic or action-filled K-dramas and movies. Or you just simply fell in love with the tasty food\, the unique traditions and history\, the buzzing life in the cities and the serene landscapes of the mountains and seaside. \nWell no matter what brings you here\, probably you have quickly noticed that some level of Korean language knowledge can be useful to get around in everyday life. Yet to acquire a foreign language is a hard skill to master\, let that be Korean with its own alphabet\, writing system and 7 verb paradigms and speech levels. \nBut no better way to take on that challenge than among friends\, a supportive community and an attentive native speaker. \nIf you are familiar with Hangul symbols and reading goes okay\, but you feel you could boost your speaking skills\, come and join our K-Speaking meetings. We offer sessions every fourth Thursday of the month which you can attend as your busy life allows. \nWe promise to keep it simple and fun with focus on daily topics that you can use to make your life easier in South Korea. \nIf you are fluent in Korean\, please come to meet new friends and share in a language and cultural exchange. \n  \nLevel: any level \nParticipants will be grouped according to their level with native Korean. SUMMARY:Volunteering at Anna's House 2026-01-23
DESCRIPTION:Spend a meaningful afternoon in the kitchen at Anna’s House. Volunteers help prepare and serve 500+ warm meals each day for neighbors experiencing homelessness\, including vulnerable youth. This hands-on opportunity is available on the first and fourth Friday of every month. \nAnna’s House was established in 1992 by Father Vincenzo Bordo\, an Italian priest who dedicates his time and life to serving those in need. The team at Anna’s House is committed to working with underprivileged people living on the streets\, whether they are homeless adults\, runaway street children or abandoned elderly people.  \nAnna’s House offers food\, clothing\, and medicine to meet daily physical needs\, while also providing legal and psychological counseling\, work opportunities\, long-term shelter\, and a safe space. \nSIWA volunteers can help with the cooking preparations in the soup kitchen.  \n*Please note that there is no designated coordinator for the event on the day\, so feel free to take initiative\, offer support where needed\, and enjoy being an active part of the experience.* \n  \n  \nEvent date & time: 2026-01-23\, 13:00 – 15:00  \nVenue: Anna’s House – 28 Maji-ro\, Jungwon-gu\, Seongnam-si\, Gyeonggi-do (안나의 집 – 경기도 성남시 중원구 마지로 28) \nNaver Map: naver.me/5TvisKZY  \nArrival instructions: When you arrive at Anna’s House\, please go down to B1 and introduce yourself in the kitchen by saying you’re from SIWA.
