Events

Our monthly social events are truly the engine of SIWA Community and very dear to all our members. Therefore each occasion is a great opportunity to have some fun while we unite people and communities through shared experiences; promote cultural exchange and appreciate cross-cultural understanding; we provide volunteering opportunities and a nurturing space where everyone can share their talents and passions to be a change maker.

Book Club: Dive into the world of literature at our monthly book club meetups on the second Friday of each month for enriching conversations with fellow book lovers and story enthusiasts. Please note: SIWA Book Club is exclusively for members.

Coffee Morning (CoMo): Our vibrant Monthly Morning Mingles are the perfect opportunity to connect with new faces, cultivate friendships, and immerse in Seoul’s dynamic cafe culture, all while gaining insight into SIWA and our missions.

Korean Speaking Club (K-Speaking Club): Explore Korean language & culture with our personalized and enjoyable monthly Korean Speaking Club, held on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Each session provides a supportive learning environment where you will be paired with a native Korean speaker in a small group setting. Any levels are welcome! Free for members; non-members get a free trial, then 10,000 per event.

Parents & Tots Together: Thoughtfully designed to foster connections and create lasting memories for the whole family, Parents & Tots Together meet-ups occur 4-5 times yearly at various family-friendly venues. Here, little ones can engage in interactive play and socialization; parents can also share their experiences of parenthood while providing support and encouragement to one another. These events are for SIWA members only.

SIWA Arts and Culture: Immerse yourself in the beauty and uniqueness of traditional and contemporary arts and culture through visits to thoughtfully selected places and exhibitions. These events are for SIWA members only.

Volunteering at Anna’s House Soup Kitchen: One of SIWA’s missions is to create a virtuous circle of volunteering to support marginalized communities. Please join us every first or fourth Friday of the month and lend a hand with the cooking preparations of warm meals to serve 500+ homeless people at the soup kitchen in Seongnam-si. Both members and non-members are welcome to join.

Volunteering at Taiwha: Taiwha Fountain House provides a supportive community-based rehabilitation program for individuals in their journey towards better mental health. Volunteers may participate in the efforts by introducing their diverse cultures from around the world for members of Taiwha Fountain House. For SIWA members and their guests only.

SIWA Connect: Gain invaluable insights and practical advice for thriving in Korea’s contemporary cultural environment. These events feature speakers from diverse cultural backgrounds sharing their fascinating insights and shared life experiences in Korea.

SIWA Speaker Series: Our speaker series features speakers from diverse backgrounds candidly sharing their personal and professional journeys, each through the unique lens of their own cultural perspectives.

Coming Together: Join us as a volunteer in these collaborative social impact and community-building events, empowering women and youth, especially those from marginalized communities. For SIWA members only.

EVENT ETIQUETTE

We love having families at our events, and you’re welcome to bring your child along (in most cases)! However, when attending events in public spaces such as cafés, museums, etc., we kindly ask that you observe a few common courtesy guidelines. To ensure a pleasant experience for all guests and to keep SIWA welcome in these venues, please help us by encouraging your children to stay close by and keep their noise levels down. Thank you for your understanding.
