Our monthly social events are truly the engine of SIWA Community and very dear to all our members. Therefore each occasion is a great opportunity to have some fun while we unite people and communities through shared experiences; promote cultural exchange and appreciate cross-cultural understanding; we provide volunteering opportunities and a nurturing space where everyone can share their talents and passions to be a change maker.
Book Club: Dive into the world of literature at our meetups on the second Friday of each month. It is for book lovers (and connoisseurs) and story enthusiasts to engage in enriching conversations and discussions.
Please note: SIWA Book Club is exclusively for members.
Coffee Morning (CoMo): Experience our vibrant Monthly Morning Mingles on the third Thursday, where both members and non-members are warmly welcomed. It is the perfect opportunity to connect with new faces, cultivate friendships, and immerse yourself in Seoul’s dynamic cafe culture, all while gaining insight into SIWA and our missions.
Korean Speaking Club (K-Speaking Club): Explore the rich tapestry of Korean culture with our personalized and enjoyable monthly Korean Speaking Club, held on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Designed for individuals at any proficiency level in Korean, our class offers a unique opportunity to enhance your understanding and connection with Korean culture. Led and guided by a certified Korean instructor, each session provides a supportive learning environment where you will be paired with a native Korean speaker in a small group setting.
Please note: It is free for members; non-members will receive a first trial class at no charge, with a subsequent fee of 10,000 per class afterwards.
Parents & Tots Together: These gatherings are thoughtfully designed to foster connections and create lasting memories for the whole family. Parents & Tots Together meet ups occur 4-5 times yearly at various family-friendly venues, offering a delightful opportunity for parents and toddlers alike. Here, little ones can engage in interactive play and socialization; parents can also share their experiences, both the rewarding moments and challenges of parenthood while providing support and encouragement to one another. Please check SIWA’s website for the dates and locations.
K-Art and Culture: Embark on a captivating journey into the heart of Korean Art and Culture at our monthly exploration event! Led by a knowledgeable SIWA leader, participants will immerse themselves in the beauty and uniqueness of traditional and contemporary culture through visits to thoughtfully selected places and exhibitions. From various museums to hidden gems of cultural significance, you will discover the rich tapestry of Korean heritage. Join us for an enriching experience celebrating art, history, and culture. Please check SIWA’s website for the dates and locations.
Anna’s House Soup Kitchen Volunteering: One of SIWA’s missions is to create a virtuous circle of volunteering to support marginalized communities. Please join us every first or fourth Friday of the month and lend a hand with the cooking preparations of warm meals to serve 500+ homeless people at the soup kitchen of Anna’s House in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. Father Vincenzo Bordo established the charity in 1992 to support homeless adults and runaway youth.
