Join SIWA member, Sujin Ahn, for a visit to the Bongeunsa Temple, a historic Buddhist temple located in the heart of Seoul’s Gangnam district. Founded in 794 AD during the Silla Dynasty, Bongeunsa offers a quiet spiritual retreat amidst the city’s modern skyline. The temple is known for its beautiful traditional architecture, serene walking paths, and a towering 23-meter tall Maitreya Buddha statue. It also plays an active role in Korean Buddhism and offers cultural programs such as temple stays and meditation experiences.
After the tour, participants are welcome to join for lunch or tea in the temple.
