Located in Buam-dong, Jongno-gu, Seokpajeong was the private hanok villa of Heungseon Daewongun, the father of King Gojong, during the late Joseon Dynasty. This cultural heritage site is renowned for its traditional Korean architecture and beautifully designed gardens. Now operated by the Seoul Museum, Seokpajeong offers visitors a unique experience that combines the exploration of historical structures with contemporary art exhibitions.
Before joining the docent tour program at the Seoul Museum, we will explore Seokpajeong Scenic Gardens. The gardens surrounding Seokpajeong are a major attraction, offering a peaceful environment with well-maintained landscapes, ponds, and walking paths. The gardens also hold cultural and historical importance, providing insights into the lifestyle and aesthetics of Korean nobility during the Joseon era.
