Mangwon-dong is a vibrant neighborhood in the Mapo-gu district of Seoul, known for its unique blend of traditional markets, trendy cafes, and cultural spots.
Before exploring the neighborhood cafes, we will visit a small but memorable museum, the War and Women’s Human Rights Museum. This significant cultural and historical institution is dedicated to raising awareness about the atrocities committed against women during wartime, particularly focusing on the experiences of “comfort women” during World War II.
The War and Women’s Human Rights Museum strives to create a better world for future generations by raising awareness of past history and memory through various exhibitions and educational programs. We will take part in an educational learning program before exploring the museum to understand in-depth the dark side of history.
After our visit to the museum, for those who want to explore Mangwon-dong, we will explore the unique neighborhood and enjoy a delightful lunch experience.
