SIWA Speaker Series: Intercultural Narratives Project – “In Their Own Words”

Thursday, March 28 2024 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

SIWA’s Intercultural Narratives Project, “In Their Own Words”, is a bi-monthly speaker series created to foster a warm and welcoming environment where speakers from diverse backgrounds candidly share their personal and professional journeys, each through the unique lens of their own cultural perspectives.

Each session will last approximately  40-45 minutes, commencing with personal story-sharing and wrapping up with an interactive Q&A session. Following the talk, you are welcome to dine at the Seoul Club restaurant, where you’ll be billed only for the food and beverages you order. We cordially invite you to this special event.

Our March guest speaker will be Dr. Amal Jarrahi,  a contemporary artist, poet, and literary critic.

Dr. Jarrahi was born in Bizerte, a charming Tunisian city in the north. She has spent her life navigating between the colors of paint and the language of literature, crafting a narrative as diverse and vibrant as her art pieces.

Dr. Jarrahi journeyed through Aix-Marseille University, crafting a rich tapestry of French literature knowledge culminating in a Ph.D. She then soared to Iran, honing her painting talents, infusing canvases with tales of her homeland. Her career is a kaleidoscope of talents. Since 2010, she has shared her wisdom at Tunisia’s Ministry of Education, and in 2020, expanded her influence as an educator at the Higher Institute of Environmental Technologies, urban Planning, and Building.

Dr. Jarrahi’s world is a crossroads between art and literature, a captivating symphony that resonates with her unique perspective. Join us and delve into her colorful journey, exploring her accomplishments as an artist and literary critic and her unwavering exploration of the interconnectedness between literature, art, and life.
